With the Vision of Kalyan Eparchial Perspective Planning (KEPP) 2030: To become a beacon of Christ, rooted in Syro-Malabar identity, and reach out to all to build the Kingdom of God and likewise the Mission statement : “We, the Eparchy of Kalyan, commit ourselves to holistic pastoral ministry, with a focus on the faith formation of children along with the youth, and to effective evangelization by re-living and proclaiming the gospel through words and deeds, as well as works of integral development, for leading all people to salvation,” Diocese of Kalyan declared Year 2024 as Kerygma: Year of Evangelisation.
Eparchy of Kalyan’s primary goal in the year of Kerygma is to form and prepare priests, religious, and laity for evangelisation so they can boldly proclaim the person of Christ.
The Diocese of Kalyan launched a five-day training program on evangelisation methods, with priests, religious, and lay members of the eparchy as its participants. The program’s goals were to plan, build capacity through individual formation and training, and gather resources for various ministries within the eparchy. It took place from March 11th 2024, at the Animation and Renewal Centre (ARC), Panvel. A resource team led by Rev. Fr. Raju and team from the Indore-based Commission for Proclamation (CCBI) served as the training facilitators. Both Hindi and English were used during the sessions.
Furthermore, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, for three hours, ARC Panvel hosted a special Kerygma program that was open to all priests, religious, and four to five laity members from all fourteen Foranes of the Diocese of Kalyan.Almost 300 people participated for this special Kerigma program.
